ISO 9001:2026
Transition training course
Practical live training for people who need to understand the revised ISO 9001 standard — and what it means for their QMS.
ISO 9001 is changing. This focused half-day workshop cuts through the revision and helps you understand what has changed, what it means in practice, and where your organisation may need to act — without repeating a full ISO 9001 course.

Trusted since 1989
We've trained thousands of ISO auditors and quality professionals worldwide.
Centre of Excellence
Awarded Centre of Excellence status by the Institute of Quality Assurance (CQI) in 1993.
Auditors who teach
Our tutors are working auditors who understand audits on both sides of the table.
Plain English delivery
We make ISO 9001 clear, useful and less intimidating with a plain English approach.
Is ISO 9001:2026 Transition training right for you?
This workshop is for people who already work with ISO 9001 and need to bring their knowledge up to date for the 2026 edition.
You do not need to be an auditor to attend.
If you manage, maintain, audit or contribute to your organisation's Quality Management System, you need to understand which expectations have changed — and, just as importantly, which parts of your existing QMS do not need reinvented.
The workshop concentrates on the practical transition from ISO 9001:2015 to ISO 9001:2026. Rather than teaching the whole standard again, we focus our three hours on the revision: what is different, what it means, what evidence auditors may look for, and what organisations should consider doing next.
If you are completely new to ISO 9001, a full ISO 9001 Requirements course is likely to be a better starting point.

"Everything was explained in terms I could understand and no question went unanswered. The small group worked really well and I enjoyed the break-out rooms as it gave us a chance to get to know each other. I would definitely highly recommend the course."
Guidance for Auditors
If you already carry out ISO 9001 Internal, Supplier or Certification Audits, this workshop will help bring your understanding of the standard up to date.
We'll look at the revision through an auditor's eyes: what has genuinely changed, how those changes may affect audit trails and questions, and what suitable evidence could look like in practice.
The aim is not simply to recognise some new wording. It is to be able to audit the revised requirements intelligently and confidently.
Guidance for Managers & QMS teams
ISO 9001 isn't only the Quality Manager's responsibility.
This workshop is useful for Quality and QHSE Managers, senior and operational managers, process owners and other team members whose work contributes to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
We'll help you separate “we need to understand this” from “we need to change something” — so you can approach transition sensibly rather than rebuilding a perfectly good QMS unnecessarily.

A three-minute taste of transition thinking
ISO revisions can generate an impressive amount of noise.
Our approach is simpler: identify what has actually changed, understand the intent behind it, and decide what — if anything — needs to change in your organisation.
Flip these cards for a taste of the thinking we'll develop during the workshop.
Three focused hours, taught by people who audit
You don't need one of the many pre-recorded presentations out there, filled with clause numbers and highlighted words. You need to understand what the revision really means.
SQMC's ISO 9001 training is delivered by experienced Quality Management System professionals who understand standards from both sides of the audit table. That means we can go beyond simply telling you that wording has changed. We'll discuss how the revised expectations could affect real organisations, what auditors may investigate, what useful evidence might look like, and where businesses risk overcomplicating their transition.
The workshop is deliberately short and focused. Three hours. Live tuition. Practical explanation. Questions encouraged. The aim is for you to finish the session knowing considerably more than when you started — and, crucially, knowing what to do next.

"Hi Karen, I would like to say a big thanks to you, your ability to mentor, patience you show, and how with your teachings you have managed to fine-tune my auditing skills. I rolled up a rough diamond and left with a few facets polished and dressed."

Frequently asked questions about ISO 9001:2026 Transition training
What is ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training?
ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training is designed for people who already know or work with ISO 9001:2015 and now need to understand the revised edition.
Rather than repeating the whole standard, the workshop concentrates on the changes, their meaning and their practical implications for Quality Management Systems and audits.
Who should attend the ISO 9001:2026 Transition workshop?
The workshop is suitable for:
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditors
- Lead and Supplier Auditors
- Quality Managers
- QHSE Managers
- QMS Managers and Coordinators
- Senior and Operational Managers
- Process owners
- Consultants
- Team members involved in maintaining or improving an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
You don't need to be an auditor to benefit.
I'm completely new to ISO 9001. Is this course suitable?
Probably not.
Transition Training assumes that you already have some familiarity with ISO 9001:2015. Because the workshop concentrates on what has changed, it isn't designed to teach the whole Quality Management Standard from scratch.
If ISO 9001 is new to you, our ISO 9001 Requirements Awareness training is likely to be a better starting point.
Do I need to repeat my ISO 9001 Internal Auditor course?
Usually, no.
If you have already completed appropriate ISO 9001:2015 auditor training, the purpose of Transition Training is to bring your knowledge up to date without unnecessarily repeating the complete auditor programme.
Your own organisation, employer, certification body or professional registration scheme may have additional competence requirements, so these should always be considered separately.
Does this workshop satisfy CQI/IRCA's transition requirements for IRCA-certificated auditors?
This SQMC workshop is professional ISO 9001 transition training and is not officially affiliated to the CQI and IRCA (although SQMC is a CQI and IRCA Approved Training Partner - or 'ATP' for short).
At the time of writing, IRCA have not published a specification for their ATPs to create Transition courses to. However, they do invite Transitioned auditors to send in details of the course they've attended for consideration, and we would expect SQMC's Transition training more than meets their requirements for approval.
Will I receive an updated certificate?
Yes.
On completion of the workshop, you will receive an SQMC ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training certificate confirming that you have completed transition training for the revised standard.
If you previously completed ISO 9001 internal or lead auditor training with SQMC or another training company, this provides evidence that you have subsequently updated your knowledge for the 2026 edition.
How long is the ISO 9001:2026 Transition course?
The workshop lasts 3 hours, making it a half-day training session.
It has deliberately been designed as a focused update rather than a full-day repeat of material you already know.
How much does ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training cost?
The standard public-course fee is £299 + VAT per delegate.
If you are attending to update an existing SQMC ISO 9001 auditor training certificate, the reduced fee is £269 + VAT.
For organisations training several people, ask us about private in-company delivery.
Do you offer payment plans for self-funders?
Yes. Interest-free payment plans are available for self-funders.
We know the fees for a course like this aren't pocket change, so if it will be helpful to pay it up over a period of two or more months, call us on 0333 939 0045 and we’ll talk you through the available options.
Can I attend ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training online?
Yes.
Our Live Online option is delivered through SQMC's Virtual Classroom.
It is not pre-recorded e-learning. You'll attend a scheduled session with a live tutor, take part in the discussion and have the opportunity to ask questions in real time.
Where can I attend classroom training?
Public classroom workshops will be available in:
Dunfermline — our national headquarters inside the brand new Fife College, on the city's Learning Campus.
Aberdeen — our North of Scotland training hub at Queen's Gardens in the city centre.
We also offer Live Online and private in-company delivery.
Can you deliver ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training for our whole team?
Yes.
The three-hour format is particularly well suited to in-company training.
We can deliver the workshop at your premises or live online for your team, and private delivery provides more opportunity to relate questions and discussion to your own organisation and Quality Management System.
What should our organisation do after the workshop?
That will depend on your existing Quality Management System.
For many organisations, transition should begin with a sensible review of the revised requirements against what you already do.
Some areas may need action. Others may already be adequately addressed.
The important thing is not to assume that a new edition of ISO 9001 means rebuilding your QMS from scratch. Understand the changes first, identify genuine gaps, assign actions where needed and retain useful evidence of your transition process.
