You do not need to be an auditor to attend.

The workshop concentrates on the practical transition from ISO 14001:2015 to ISO 14001:2026. Rather than teaching the whole standard again, we focus our three hours on the revision: what is different, what has been clarified, what it means in practice, what evidence auditors may look for, and what organisations should consider doing next.

We'll look at the revision through an auditor's eyes: what has genuinely changed, what has been clarified, how those changes may affect audit trails and questions, and what suitable evidence could look like in practice.
The aim is not simply to recognise some altered wording. It is to be able to audit the revised requirements intelligently and confidently.

You don't need to be an auditor to benefit.
I'm completely new to ISO 14001. Is this course suitable?
Probably not.
Transition Training assumes that you already have some familiarity with ISO 14001:2015. Because the workshop concentrates on what has changed, it isn't designed to teach the whole Environmental Management Standard from scratch.
If ISO 14001 is new to you, our ISO 14001 Internal Auditor training is likely to be a better starting point.
Do I need to repeat my ISO 14001 Internal Auditor course?
Usually, no.
If you have already completed appropriate ISO 14001:2015 auditor training, the purpose of Transition Training is to bring your knowledge up to date without unnecessarily repeating the complete auditor programme.
Your own organisation, employer, certification body or professional registration scheme may have additional competence requirements, so these should always be considered separately.
Does ISO 14001:2026 completely change the standard?
No.
The basic framework of ISO 14001 remains familiar. The 2026 edition refines and clarifies a number of areas rather than replacing the existing Environmental Management System model with something entirely different.
That's one reason why sensible transition starts with understanding the changes — not automatically rewriting your EMS.
When does our organisation need to transition to ISO 14001:2026?
Organisations certified to ISO 14001:2015 will need to transition their certification to the new edition within the timeframe applying to their certification arrangements.
The precise timing should be confirmed with your Certification Body.
There's no need to panic — but there is a very good reason to understand the revised standard early, identify genuine gaps and plan any actions sensibly rather than leaving everything until your transition audit approaches.
Will I receive an updated certificate?
Yes.
On completion of the workshop, you will receive an SQMC ISO 14001:2026 Transition Training certificate confirming that you have completed transition training for the revised standard.
If you previously completed ISO 14001 auditor training with SQMC or another training organisation, this provides evidence that you have subsequently updated your knowledge for the 2026 edition.
How long is the ISO 14001:2026 Transition course?
The workshop lasts 3 hours, making it a half-day training session.
It has deliberately been designed as a focused update rather than a full-day repeat of material you already know.
How much does ISO 14001:2026 Transition Training cost?
The standard public-course fee is £299 + VAT per delegate.
If you are attending to update an existing SQMC ISO 14001 training certificate, the reduced fee is £269 + VAT.
For organisations training several people, ask us about private in-company delivery.

Can I attend ISO 14001:2026 Transition Training online?
Yes.
Our Live Online option is delivered through SQMC's Virtual Classroom.
It is not pre-recorded e-learning. You'll attend a scheduled session with a live tutor, take part in the discussion and have the opportunity to ask questions in real time.

Is this a morning or afternoon course?
Our public ISO 14001:2026 Transition workshops are scheduled for the afternoon.
We've done this deliberately because some delegates need to update their knowledge of both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Our half-day ISO 9001:2026 Transition workshop runs in the morning on the same dates, allowing you to attend both workshops in a single day.
For private in-company training, the session can of course be arranged at a time that suits your organisation.
Can I attend ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Transition Training on the same day?
Yes — that's exactly why we've coordinated the schedules.
Attend ISO 9001:2026 Transition Training in the morning, followed by ISO 14001:2026 Transition Training in the afternoon.
It's particularly useful for QHSE Managers, integrated management system auditors and anyone responsible for both Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
Each is a separate three-hour workshop and each provides its own SQMC Transition Training certificate.
Can you deliver ISO 14001:2026 Transition Training for our whole team?
Yes.
The three-hour format is particularly well suited to in-company training.
We can deliver the workshop at your premises or live online for your team, and private delivery provides more opportunity to relate questions and discussion to your own organisation, environmental aspects and Environmental Management System.
What should our organisation do after the workshop?
That will depend on your existing Environmental Management System.
For many organisations, transition should begin with a sensible review of ISO 14001:2026 against what you already do.
Some areas may need action. Others may already be adequately addressed.
The important thing is not to assume that a new edition of ISO 14001 means rebuilding your EMS from scratch.
Understand the changes first, identify genuine gaps, assign actions where needed and retain useful evidence of your transition process.
