About your course
We look forward to welcoming you to our virtual classroom when you develop your skills as an ISO 14001 Internal Auditor.
Did you know if ISO 14001 were adopted worldwide, the resulting environmental improvements could cut more carbon than the entire aviation industry produces each year?!
Who would be central to this achievement? Auditors.
As an internal auditor, every time you review your organisation’s energy use, waste streams, or resource efficiency, you’re not just ticking boxes — you’re uncovering opportunities that can slash up to 5–20% of emissions in the first few years of adopting the Standard. This is not policy-speak; it’s a realistic way for you to make a practical, ethical impact for your enviornment.
In other words, ISO 14001 auditors are unsung heroes — no capes required, just curiosity, integrity, and a sharp eye for improvement.
Virtual classroom
SQMC uses Zoom as our virtual classroom platform, and you can download this, free, at www.zoom.us. If you can achieve an upload speed of at least 2 MBps and a download speed of 16 MBps or greater, you should be fine (this is well above the minimum requirements suggested by Zoom). You can measure your broadband performance at the following link: https://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk Our technician will be in the background on the day of the course looking after the techy stuff, so any glitches or hiccups you may have can be sorted immediately.
Timings and method
Our virtual classroom opens at 9:15 am on both days, with the course beginning at 9:30 am. This allows 15 minutes to resolve any technical issues any of the delegates or staff may experience, initially. Each day will end by 5:00 pm, and there will be many breaks throughout each day, including an hour for lunch. The course will comprise a mixture of online and offline activities and tutor-led, interactive sessions.
Please note that attendance at all sessions is a requirement of the course. There is no final, formal exam. Instead, you will be assessed during a series of relatively stress-free, practical, and written exercises throughout the course.
Successful candidates will be awarded a digital Certificate of Achievement from the Scottish Quality Management Centre. This will be sent electronically – normally within 14 days after you complete the course – and is easy to print, upload to your LinkedIn page, etc. If you’d like to purchase a physical (card) certificate for your own personal files, you can order them for £17 + vat surcharge. Please contact us directly to arrange it.
