We believe in doing business the right way. That means acting responsibly towards people, communities, and the environment, while maintaining high ethical standards in everything we do. We may be a small business, but we take our responsibilities seriously—and we’re proud of the positive impact we can make.
Our Commitments to People are:
1. Ethical Business Practices - We operate with integrity, transparency, and fairness. We have a clear Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery Policy, and we do not tolerate corruption, dishonesty, or exploitation in any form. We also have a Modern Slavery statement to affirm our commitment to human rights in our supply chains.
2. Human Rights & Fair Treatment - We treat our employees, subcontractors, and students with respect, dignity, and fairness. We pay the Real Living Wage, promote flexible working arrangements where possible, and reject the use of ‘fire and rehire’ tactics or exploitative contracts. Bullying, harassment, and discrimination have no place at SQMC.
3. Environmental Stewardship - We are committed to minimising our environmental impact through sensible, sustainable practices. Our Environmental Policy outlines our efforts to reduce waste, prioritise digital delivery, and use resources responsibly. We also consider accessibility by public transport when selecting venues for training.
4. Community & Local Impact - Wherever possible, we support local suppliers and seek to make decisions that benefit the communities we work in. We work with trusted subcontractors — many of whom are locally-based experts in their fields — and aim to be a positive presence in the regions we operate from.
5. Education for Good - Our core business is providing high-quality training and consultancy services in quality, health & safety, and environmental management. By helping others raise their standards, we play a part in making industries safer, cleaner, and more ethical.
Commitment to Ongoing Improvement:
We regularly review our policies and practices to ensure they reflect our values and responsibilities. We also listen to feedback from staff, students, and clients, and use it to improve what we do.
For any questions or concerns about our CSR commitments, please speak to SQMC management.
