SQMC Information Security & Data Protection Policy

Written by Communications | Mar 26, 2025 1:10:08 PM

We value the trust our clients, students, and partners place in us. We handle data with care and take appropriate steps to protect personal and sensitive information. This policy outlines how we manage data securely and comply with applicable privacy laws, including the UK GDPR.

Our Approach:

1. Data We Handle - We may collect and store basic personal information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, company names, training history, and course feedback. This is used strictly for delivering our services, maintaining records, and fulfilling legal or accreditation requirements.

2. How We Store Data - We store data securely using reputable cloud-based systems with restricted access. Devices are password-protected, and access is limited to authorised personnel only. We keep only what we need and for as long as necessary.

3. Sharing of Data - We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing. We may share necessary information with accrediting bodies or trusted service providers (e.g. online training platforms) where required to deliver our services or meet compliance obligations.

4. Data Rights & Transparency - Anyone whose data we hold can request access, correction, or deletion of their information by contacting us. We aim to be transparent about what we hold and why.

5. Staff Awareness & Good Practice - We maintain a culture of data awareness. Staff and tutors are expected to follow basic data security protocols, such as using secure passwords, not storing data on personal devices, and reporting any suspected breaches immediately.

Keeping Things Secure:

  • We use encrypted services where possible.

  • We back up data regularly and securely.

  • We avoid paper records unless absolutely necessary.

Breach Management

In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will act swiftly to contain and assess the situation, notify affected parties as required, and take steps to prevent recurrence.

For any questions or concerns about our CSR commitments, please speak to SQMC management.
