Re-train or update?

ISO 45001 takes over from the out-going OHSAS 18001:2007 British Standard, and the good news is that auditors previously trained to 18001 do not have to re-take an entire Internal or Lead Auditor course again to stay 'valid' -- you can update your qualification through attendance on this SQMC (or similar) one-day module. Please note that auditors who are personally registered with IRCA may require to undertake a two-day course, not offered by SQMC.

I'm not an auditor. Should I attend?

This Transition workshop will be beneficial for anyone responsible for the implementation or maintenance of an ISO 45001-based Safety Management System. Managers affected by an 'SMS' should also consider attending the course, to gain a clear understanding of how the changes and additional clauses will impact their role.

Freelance consultants and trainers will also want to attend, and the course is worth 7 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points in the Chartered Quality Institute.

Foundation and Internal Auditor training in one

This course is designed to be enjoyable and illuminating from start to finish, using accelerated learning techniques and a layered approach to the extensive new information you'll become aware of. Because we are not bound by any IRCA criteria for this particular course, we have condensed the content and eliminated the need to take the extra day of training on the ISO 45001 Standard, that may be required by other providers. Therefore, most delegates find it relatively easy to pick up the subject in our two-day format; and with our expert coaching, do very well in the continuous assessment exercises. Our 100% pass rate for the ISO 45001 Internal Auditor course in 2018 confirmed this!

What will I gain from OHSAS 18001 awareness training?

Health and Safety at work is an issue affecting all businesses, and implementing an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System is now a legal requirement in many countries. In addition, companies are increasingly required to report on their health and safety performance. This makes it vital to demonstrate that your organisation delivers on its policy commitments.

This OHSAS 18001 Awareness Training Workshop provides a jargon-free foundation in the subject for all levels of staff, and our Certificate of Attendance demonstrates a commitment to gain knowledge and meet legislative and Certification Body requirements.

Where will I go from here?

When the day is complete, participants will understand the purpose of an OHS Management System. They can then explain the legislative framework relevant to such a system. A percentage of your staff should be earmarked for further development, as OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditors.

Is OHSAS 18001 awareness training suitable for me?

This OHSAS 18001 Awareness Training is a foundational workshop – a suitable introduction for novices, or more experienced staff who seek clarification on how the OHSAS 18001 Standard applies in their workplace. Our qualified tutors bring the content across in an easy-to-digest manner, instinctively matching the pace and training techniques to your staff's individual preferences.
